If the world will end soon, which... i have strong believe of...
If these harmful acts to the world will not stop, which... clearly, will not... for people are materialistic beings...
then... what can be done?
where to go, at the end of the world? what voice to follow?
the end... is not so faraway... not all of us will die... but... what will life be like after that?

Sleepy
Very sleepy. Possibly cuz the cold medicine I am taking.
Read some writing from past, very naive writing. No wonder no one really paid me attention. If I knew how naive the writing is... well...
Then, my writing isn't any better at the present, *sigh*.

Fun fun fun!
Despite the fact that... this is freakin hard... grrr
And freakin brain-consuming... (haven't been this excited for awhile now)
I'm entirely thrilled!
Hopefully I can get this website together exactly as I plan it and the course plans out by the end of the night (gave myself a promise not to go to bed before then). Hooray if I do... if I don't... okay... I'll continue tomorrow. The deadline I give myself is tomorrow noon. The deadline they gave us is tomorrow midnight.
I feel good about this, funny as it seems... although it is extremely tiring and... well, a lot of people might complain, but it is SOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!
Seriously... I think someone was right when they commented me as being the researcher type during my university years (geesh, i can't believe i am saying this phrase). Or more like, I enjoy throwing in more things into my less-complicated brain. (growing less every day... i think my brain is actually shrinking)... ><
Overall, I am please with the recent development. My writing has grown considerably (compared to the period when i cease to educate myself). And so has my interest deepened and the sense of orientation deepening with it. These are all overall good and positive developements for me, and I owe great deal of it to the department I wish to become part of and work for in the near future (Gradate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language).
So much to do and so little time. I'm enjoying myself... :P

Not time for Biz-start-up
Unless you're a web wiz like Steve Chen or have his niche market with flash video.
Unless you've got connections and a background of biz owners willing to invest...
This is bad timing for Biz-start-ups.
Check the scenery: Google ate half of the online world, Yahoo! ate the other. Microsoft has half the software market, Apple has the other. Banks are merging, so are countries (EU). Even schools are merging (a.k.a. North Taiwanese Schools).
Sooner or later it might be Yagle! (bad name) we are using, or Google-Yahoo!. Apple might become the development division of Microsoft. We'll have one international banking system (except for the Swiss). Europe will be on country (so they can fight the big CHINA). School? Ivy League will become one school system of its own, alone with the UC system in the West.
So... bad time for BIZ-start-ups. Cuz, it doesn't what you start-up, they either already have it (in the big companies), or else they're developing it (truly), or else they'll just merge you (in which case, soon, the prices for merging will go down and small companies have less ability to survive).
Commercialization? Capitalism? What is it doing to the world? (lack of diversity, of course)... so this is where "planetarian" culture comes from.
Good... soon we can get our ass back to Mars and report this whole freakin thing.

Do something worthy
Do something worthy and that's good enough. Do something helpful to others and that's good enough. Be nice, be good, be sweet, be compassionate...
(God... sounds like I am giving a sermon or something)
Do your best. That's good enough.
What if, you feel that you could always have done better?

Confucius Institute
For those who cannot read Chinese, there are English versions of it.
This institute is marvelous (now feeling want to become a part of it... :P ).
However, I doubt the spreading of Confucism to be the best thing in the world, yet the spread of the Chinese language is definitely something worth getting out there. (a.k.a., start studying, people!) :P
What if you can create a school in which, not only classes are given, but much much more (like a whole chinese setting brought to europe or something). Anyways... just a side-note. (Get a feeling that Ivo's room is quite in danger of being re-modeled in a few years).
Somewhat exciting, this research world (I wonder if you can teach Chinese w/ heavy metal... definitely sth to look into...). However, they did point out one fact that was, well, rather sad. Due to historical reasons (much to lengthy), the Chinese have forgotten quite a bit about contemporary art. Perhaps that's the hit Taiwan should make. At least, the last before we die out under the power of the greater China (no, actually, I doubt this, in creativity sense... at least) <-- Taiwan is based on a history of fishing and traveling culture, making the people more daring, more creativity and more... about survival (i guess), whereas the Chinese are more stable, more nostalgic, but also more tradition keeping in the long run (they're much more into the history than we are)... There's gotta be a balance between the two.
Contemporary Chinese literary scene... I wonder what that is aside from a lot of traveling books and even more "be happy" short stories (and hence, where's the reality?). Somehow, in this sense, the French decadence is quite attractive (rrr france <-- someone once opposed grrr, so now it is rrrr). Need to look into it before I make further comments though (getting the idea that people would oppose).
well... we can do a minor test at the contemporary Chinese literary scene. :P I mean, if they want travel books... >:P <--
should be evil grin, but doesn't look evil enough.

decided 2 try this "label/tag" thing... will integrate my flickr w/ my youtube w/ my blogger soon.

Dreams
What is your dream?
When I was little, I had all these odd dreams. I wanted to be something, someone, more than who I am. For a period of time, I was into arts, I thought, I could be an artist (well, not at all). Then I was into peace-keeping (don't ask me why). I dreamed of keeping the Isralis from killing all the Palestinians (and then I grew up, got to know more about the world, and discovered the disgusting truth behind it all).
So many things... But narrowing it down, there's one thing I knew was my tool in life, and that is Writing. There's one thing I know I want to do, and that is contribute.
If we talk about the kind of life I want to lead. Then I would be able to say easily. For the majority of my life I have been fascinated with one idea, to live and teach or contribute in Africa. Don't ask me why, but it's just something that... I dream about. Africa or South America or Inner China.
For a moment, I might have given it up. Listening to all the great talks about all the riches in life. The glamour, the glory, etc.
Now... I am going towards another path, of something I know will lead me near that dream. Then I realized, how much I want it. How much, I want to be that someone I am meant to be.
If there is GOD, in which case, I believe there is, He had once said... to spread your love and warmth around the world, so that no corner will be cold.
And so I smile, knowing, that it is my fate and life to smile. I drive on, knowing that it is my mission to do so.
---
Corny as it sounds. But dinner first, finish later.

You've always said
You've always said, you wanted to do something that could change the world.
Well, this is your chance, just take it and do something with it.
It won't be easy, no, it won't.
And it took you years to realize it again.
But now, that the path is rather clear, you know where you are going.
The hardship may be over-bearing sometimes, but it will be worth it.
You, carrying your dreams, may be something extraordinary.
Give it your best shot, and at least, there'll be nothing to regret at all.

so says
so it was/is said that in Taiwan, to become a recognized writer you need to have little ups and downs in your writing. like someone romantically falling in love, like someone hit by a car (in a mysterious way that make people wonder if we die so easy... for reference, please check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk2oPC7o1aw )...etc. Recently, travel stories have been on the hit (and i have been under the pressure of doing one myself, only that... well... my travel stories aren't really travel travel stories ((alright, check the other EVE))... ><)...
hum... thinking more about doing something called "reality check", or "The Other Taiwan". (scratch)... no artistic ambitions --> me <-- hopeless.
ran through these few nice blogs, really nice blogs, none Taiwanese, unfortunately... difference in taste. I guess I've seriously grown old (*sigh*). Been reading those blogs about culture, babies, family, breakfast? (this is a kool one, actually). Something of ridicule, and... well... like Mel said, "obscure".
(and maybe the reason why i am starting to write similarily is because i've been reading them... @@ accordingly, i've always been more obscure than normal... but then, could anyone please give me a good definition of obscure?)
yeta yeta yeta (blah~)... (if you get annoyed by all the "..."s, make a comment, and i'll strive to improve. strive, not to actually do it).
all words said. it's just blogging. what's the fuss?
--
However, who am i to say about the literary scene of Taiwan? I haven't a clue, seriously. Maybe I have a bit more clue about the Sci-Fi scene of the states (which has been crazy about evolution since the beginning of mankind, and still is hardcore at it. which, literary, except for Stephen Coxter, in my opino, hasn't been as fascinating as was during Asimov's time ((my dear, philip dick, asimov, clark, herbert, and tons more...)) which is rather a pity. can't seem to walk out of their shadows, us nubies)
*note: concerning my writings, slow in progress, check The Other Eve, though not very often opened for public
Since I haven't a clue about the literary scene of Taiwan, actually, except that it's kool to drink whiskey, smoke, drink belgium beer, listen to soft jazz, wear french-wannabe clothings, speak french/spanish (in a snobbish way), snob actually, go to lounges, look decadent (big in fashion, this decadency, my goodness)...etc. Oh, and a lot of travel stories. The majority of literature in the bookstore seems to be focused around either, "get yourself together and be happy!" books, or else "get your ass out there and travel" books. Gives me the impression that people here are either depressed or domesticated (which might be true).
Paris is not the impressive. Decadency doesn't help you live. And... if you wanna get yourself together, then "actually get yourself together" instead of read a "guide on how to" and then still manages to reck your life. If you wanna go travelling, GO TRAVELLING! Is it that hard? (with exception for those who want to make trips that costs up to 200k or 300k, which is often the case in Taiwan... but here's a tip, you can go through Europen plenty and happy with 100k tops. Poor travel, fun travel --> let the adventure begin!)
Maybe not my place to say. I've been to paris for like, what, three days (then escaped with desparation). or maybe decadency just isn't my thing (although I do occassionally enjoy a smoke and a whiskey and a pointless artsy discussion).
*note: and then i am listening to Amilie at the moment, so really not my place to say.
